  • How do I find out who a neighbor is renting from?

    5:01 pm on March 14, 2010 | 2 Permalink | Reply

There is a guy across the street who is renting a townhouse and I am completely SICK of him. He is always blasting his bass in his car, he has 4 other guys living there who do the same, they are noisy and invite people over who are the same. I’ve called the police twice now and I have had enough!

So you think the landlord will do something to deny him his right to play music?

You can find the owner via tax records. But he does not have more power then the police.

    • Ryan M 5:01 pm on March 14, 2010 Permalink

You have to contact the HOA and complain unless you want to go over to the country records office and look it up yourself who owns that property.

I am interested in starting an online travel agency as a LLC. How much would a lawyer charge to set one up in Tennessee.

My accountant set one up–didn’t use a lawyer. Just another resource

    • Gogo 3:42 pm on March 14, 2010 Permalink

It varies, but should only be around $400 to $500.

    • manthanm2002 3:42 pm on March 14, 2010 Permalink

A lawyer will not do anything more than you will yourself or any other online company (legal zoom, biz filings, etc). I recommend that you do it yourself instead of hiring a lawyer. It will save you money which you can then use it or purchasing equipment, supplies, or anything along those lines.

  • How do I take myself out of consideration for a job after an interview?

    1:01 pm on March 14, 2010 | 2 Permalink | Reply

I’ve had interviews in the past where, immediately upon completion, I knew I definitely did not want the job. How do I go about removing myself as a candidate in a professional way? Should I write that I’m not interested in my thank you letter (which I always write no matter how badly the interview went), or should I communicate it differently? Please help – there is tons of advice out there about turning down job offers, but hardly any about how to take yourself out of the running before an offer is extended. Thank you!

    • the_man_mr_t 1:01 pm on March 14, 2010 Permalink

In the thank you e-mail, just state that after careful consideration the position is not exactly what you had in mind and that you no longer wish to be considered for it.Thanks them for their time and wish them all the best.

You will need to use a program like TouchCopy to copy your iPod content onto your computer. TouchCopy lets you copy all your music, video, photos, contacts, notes, calendars, games and more from your iPod.

To copy your iPod music using TouchCopy, you will need to…
      1. Download and install TouchCopy on your new computer. TouchCopy works with all iPod types and the iPhone. There are free PC and Mac downloads available from here
      http://www.touchcopy.com

      2. Ensure that iTunes is closed before connecting your iPod. Then start TouchCopy and connect your iPod. TouchCopy will have fixed your iTunes preferences so that iTunes will not sync music or video with your iPod while TouchCopy is running. These changes are restored when you quit TouchCopy.

      3. Use TouchCopy to copy all your iPod content to your new computer hard drive or straight into iTunes.

      4. You can then use iTunes to re-sync your iPod, which lets you add new content to it.

See the YouTube video on how easy it is to copy iPod music, playlists and video using TouchCopy here

Download itunes on your new pc.
Then plug in your ipod to the new computer with all the songs on it you want to transfer.
It should come up with a box that asks if you want to transfer your purchases.
If it doesn’t you may have to go on your account information on itunes and choose authorise this computer to play my music and then plug in your ipod again.

The first step is to get yourself a service manual. A Clymer manual for this bike only costs about $34 + shipping. You will find this is the most important thing that you can purchase for your ride.

A service manual will have complete step by step instructions to correctly perform most maintenance tasks, including oil changes.

A service manual will pay for itself the first time you use it.

With a service manual you will no longer need to depend on strangers on the Internet for your maintenance procedures. I find it amazing how much B.S. someone will give just to get a measly 2 points.

With my bike, a Suzuki, I found that there is a cover that needs to be removed to clean out the oil sump. This is recommended at least every other oil change. This is something that I would never have known without a maintenance manual.

Do it right or don’t do it at all.

  • What is a discovery in a juvenile court case and how long does a lawyer have to get it to another lawyer?

From what I understand, a discovery is some kind of evidence against someone. I need to find out and find out if there is a limit on the time for it to be transfered from one lawyer to another.

    • coragryph 11:42 am on March 14, 2010 Permalink

Discovery is the process of exchanging evidence and information between the two sides. Not all of the information exchanged needs to be admissible as evidence, as long as it is relevant to the case.

The specific rules and timelines vary by state, and by the local rules for each court. Where there is any doubt, the judge can clarify when discovery needs to be completed.

My court date is 11/9/9 and my lawyer wants to change the date of the hearing, does he still have time to change it?

    • Bruce 11:42 am on March 14, 2010 Permalink

The request must be approved by the judge. It depends on the circumstances of why you want the date changed. If the request is reasonable, the judge will probably grant the request.

    • sweet.caroline 11:42 am on March 14, 2010 Permalink

Attorney can ask for delay or continuance and state a reason. Judge determines whether it can be changed or not. Attorney can contact prosecutor or other attorney and agree to change and get okay then take to judge. Usually will change if a good reason. But won’t let unreasonable delay.

    • R 11:42 am on March 14, 2010 Permalink

I’m wondering, isn’t it the court clerk that would have that info. Also, the lawyer should know how much time he/she has to request a date change as well as the process involved. You can always go on line in your state, and look for the court procedures for that court in your state. A safe bet would be to ask your lawyer. They would know, and he/she would know for your particular case/situation.

You should hire an architect and a general contractor.

    • Kit 9:00 am on March 14, 2010 Permalink

You first need to discuss with someone who can draw the designs. You have to have those to start.
If you don’t know someone in construction stop by a couple of locations where they are building a house or subdivision. It would be best to ask friends & family first tho to see if they can recommend a reliable co or person. Good luck.

Well, mention all the babysitting courses you have taken. Make sure to mention you know first-aid and CPR. People feel better to hear that you are well trained.

Go with simple ads. Like fliers. Your payment wage should be the minimum amount that babysitting courses recommend. At least start with that. Then as your babysitting job days goes up, add a little bit more. But not too much.

Make up business cards on your computer detailing your quality of service, times available and charges. Hand them out to people you consider prospects. it is a very businesslike way to conduct an enterprise.

Most word processing programs have business card makers in them and you can buy a box of business card sheets at any office supply store. They print ten per sheet and you can design them any way you want.

    • RK :] 5:02 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Send out papers in the mail to people you know that have young children. Put your address, your name, phone number, how much you charge per hour, what you like to do with kids, etc. on the paper. Make sure to type it on the computer so it looks professional.
If you are okay with posting papers around your neighborhood, bulletin boards at businesses, and stuff like that, then post some there as well. Put little rip-off tickets on the bottom so people can take a business card. Think it over first, because remember, anyone can come up and read your paper and get your phone number and stuff.
You should get new babysitting opportunities in no time!

Turnips are ready to harvest when they start pushing out of the ground(30 to 45 days after planting). Pick them when they’re about two inches in diameter. When they get bigger than that they become tough and stringy.

    • cajundude1 5:02 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Harvest them between 2 to 3 inches in diameter. They are best then. If you leave them too long after they get that size they will be spongy inside and not taste as good. The best way to do this is to pull one about two inches in diameter and see if it’s sweet and juicy.

  • How do i legally fire my lawyer and long does it take for her to withdraw from my case?

    3:41 pm on March 13, 2010 | 1 Permalink | Reply

I am very dissapointed with my current lawyer. What steps do I take to fire her and how long does it take for her to withdraw from my case?, so I can hire a new lawyer.

    • fangtaiyang 3:42 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

You simply say to your lawyer, "you are fired", tell the judge that you no longer wish to be represented by that person and hire another attorney. Your current lawyer does not have to be either fired or withdraw from your case before you hire another one.

wow everyone, like i haven’t tried just cutting them? it always turns out weird around my thighs. so i’m seeing if there is anything to change that. you obviously dont just cut them

    • Mel 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Please do not wear Jorts. (Cut off jeans)
Just buy them so then they won’t look like jorts.

    • Ian 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

      cut them??

    • David 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

      You cut off the legs

    • saforintos 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

You cut them…there’s not much more to it than that.

    • Angel 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

I’d try a heavy starch then press

    • hesperias_witch 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Cut them at the length you want….they will fray if you do not hem them

    • qubic136 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

You could just cut the pants into shorts, right?

    • Anna 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Just cut them with a scissor at the desired length.

    • AskAStupidQuestion... 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

you cut the legs off. Really, 1 step. not hard.

    • kaulitzL0V3 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

um. just put them on, and mark where you want them to be.
then take them off, and cut on the mark that your just made.

just try to make it look even.

    • morgy8755 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

For me, the simplest and cheapest way is to just cut them with a good pair of scissors at whatever length you want.

    • Carrierox! 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

      You just cut them…

    • J C 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

just cut the legs off then you’ll get a vintage look that’ll look awesome!

      :)

    • Terribastedo 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

First, try them on and use a pen or marker to "draw" a little notch where you want them cut. If you’re going to cuff them, allow two inches for that. I usually just cut mine off and within a few washings, they look "in". :D I’ve done it so far to three pair of jeans this year alone. :>

    • spiderhedron 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Cut the legs of the jeans off — duh!

    • EVille 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

just cut them. make them pretty

    • Jusitn R 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Do you really need to ask such a question? Scissors, and depending on the jean cut be careful when you’re cutting the seem, if there is one.

    • Twilight_lover =D 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Cut them or take them to the cleaners they would do it for you. :)

    • JustDandy 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Get a ruler or measuring tape, have someone help you out…draw a pencil line if you want….and cut them.

They’ll look funny, but after you wash them you’ll get a cool ruffle effect around the legs.

    • GG 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

      Cut and rip.

    • Henry B 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

measure equal distance from the waistband down the leg and cut them equally around.
You can hem them as well if you know how to sew.

    • Kayla 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

first u want to mark where to cut them so u dont make them too short. but if they r longer then u want to can always make them shorter. but thats all i can think of.

    • Siren 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

      yoouuu…. cut them??

    • Jill 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Depends on the style you want. You can just cut them off to the length you need and they’ll eventually fray after you wash them a couple times. Or you can cut them off and fold the bottom, sew them, and create a hem. (Frayed)Cut offs are back in style, so I would just do it that, its much easier.

    • steve m 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Yes you cut them to the length you want. then fold the under and sew the end so they don’t unravel.

    • ♥CAPE COD IZ LIFE♥ 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

cut off the lefs and sow them into shorts (with the cuff @ the bottom and stuff)

    • !SRN! 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Cut them with sharp scissors. If you don’t want them to fray, then you have to hem them.

    • Liv 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

      cut to desired length, hem

    • gonemonkey13 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

make your first cut LONGER then the length you want, try the shorts on, and try again. sometimes when you put them on after you cut, they’re shorter than they appear

    • missy 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

First off you gotta put them on and with a piece of tape mark how short you want them. then take them off, and try to cut both sides evenly. Denim frays at the end, so if you want to avoid this you can try hemming them, another trick is to coat the end tips with clear nail polish. Good luck. :)

    • Meg 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Simple actually. All you have to do is cut the legs off at whatever length. Be sure to cut straight! Use something sharp to cut, or it will com out bad!

    • chicagonlf 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Don’t cut them too short!!!! , Find another pair of shorts that you like and mark your jeans with the pattern of your existing short pants. Then cut them. You may like to have them hemmed to make it look even more finished, then you would need to cut them an extra 1/2 inch or maybe an inch, and either cuff them of hem them

    • Bones 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

cut of bottom half, leaving as much as youd like left over (if u want short shorts, medium, ect.) and then u can fold up some to make cuffs—makes em cuter

    • Baby Kates! 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

Either cut them and make the edges a little rough or cut them and sew the seams. What I find makes them look best ais when you put some rips and tears in them. I hope this helped.

    • illuminateddd 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

I cut mine with a pair of scissors, so far i’ve only done bermude and mid-thigh length

then i roll the unhemmed bottom a little so theres a little cuff
you can also take a cheese grater to make real rips and not those gross looking ones done with scissors,

      http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Distressed-Jeans

    • cajunmom 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

You decide how short you want them, and if you want to hem them, then you allow about about an inch and a half longer, then cut them off.
If you want cut-offs, then just decide how short you want them, and cut them off. Measure from the band, mark the legs across, to get them cut off straight. If you want hemmed shorts, and have not done that before, then get someone who knows how to sew, to show you how to hem them. Hope that helps!

    • luvbug 1:32 pm on March 13, 2010 Permalink

u should prlly make sure tht it is straight across where u want 2 cut them and make sure u dont cut in2 the pocket other wise its not usable.when ur done u could hem them at the bottom so they dont fray..unless u like the look.
      heres sum insrtuctions:
Put a pair of old jeans into a bathtub full of water with the amount of bleach you desire in it. This amount depends on how light or dark you want your cut-offs.
Let the jeans soak for about a half hour to an hour (once again, depends on how much bleach you put in).
Take the jeans out and throw them in the dryer for about one hour. If they’re a little damp, don’t worry, you can work fine with them.
Use tough scissors to cut off the legs until you get to your desired length.
Fray the bottom edges and around the sides and the front and back pocket openings with scissors or a pocket knife.
Fray the actual fabric up and down fast and hard to get a rough look, using sandpaper.
      and tips:
To keep the stringy fray, you may want to freshen them up every now and then by running the knife across the cut-offs.
When you are cutting your jeans down to shorts, be sure to try them on every few cuts! Remember, you can always cut off more, but you can’t always add back on easily.
If you get bleach on your skin, wash the area immediately for 15-20 minutes in warm water.
