I keep hearing about something called Club Penguin from all the kids I know, but I’ve never seen it advertised. How did you/your kids find out about Club Penguin? I’m wondering how it got popular enough for Disney to acquire it for so much money???

My daughter played it alot on the Disney site. You can only do up to a certain amount of things for then you have to pay. Its a cute game but I wouldnt spend for it.

I heard of it from friends, a couple years ago. It wasn’t nearly as popular then. It has so many more features & players. It’s pretty fun, but the fact that you have to pay for the clothing & personalization turns me off.

So, I decided to make an account and to be honest, they really aren’t fun at all.
I would much rather play with Webkinz, that play on Club Penguin.
Hope I Helped!

they preview it. It’s really addicting. I think disney just bought it because it was just starting to get big and they would make so much money.

I heard miniclip games from a friend and I went and saw club penguin game so I started playing, its fun for lots of people, from kids to teenayers here is some information of club penguin:
About Club Penguin
In March of 2005, New Horizon Interactive set out to create an online world for kids where they could safely play games, have fun and interact. As parents and Internet specialists, New Horizon’s owners wanted to develop a place they and other adults around the world would feel comfortable letting their own children and grandchildren visit.
The Club Penguin team got to work, consulting with educators, law enforcement representatives and other parents, doing extensive research into online safety, and conducting widespread testing. Eight whirlwind months later, in October 2005, Club Penguin opened to the public with about 25,000 users.
Word quickly spread, mainly due to great reviews from users and parents impressed by the quality of the games, activities and security functions. In March 2006, Club Penguin was showcased on Miniclip, the world’s largest online game site, and rapidly became the site’s number one game.
By the summer of 2007, Club Penguin had grown to 700,000 current paid subscribers and more than 12 million activated users. On August 1, the company announced it had joined the Walt Disney Company in a business
partnership designed to provide Club Penguin with access to unprecedented resources and a wide range of exciting and unique development opportunities.
As a member of the Walt Disney family, Club Penguin is privileged to be part of a company that shares its unwavering commitment to creating a fun and safe online entertainment experience for children and families.
In light of Club Penguin’s incredible success, its founders continue to maintain the company’s focus on the three key areas of fun, safety and service. Club Penguin is updated every week and most of the company’s resources go into its efforts to make the site as safe as possible.
Club Penguin is completely funded by subscriptions and is proud to be 100 per cent ad free.
Club Penguin is based in the beautiful city of Kelowna, four hours (by car) east of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
